The buildings gallery: visualizing buildings

چکیده
Buildings are beautiful mathematical objects tying a variety of subjects in algebra and geometry together very direct sense. They form natural bridge to visualising more complex principles group theory. As such they provide an opportunity talk about the inner workings mathematics broader audience, but visualisations could also serve as didactic tool teaching building theory, we believe can even inspire future research. We present algorithmic method visualise these geometric objects. The main accomplishment is use existing theory produce three dimensional, interactive models buildings associated groups with $BN$-pair. final product, web application called Gallery, be found at https://buildings.gallery \citep{Bekker2020}.

Mobile Augmented Reality (MAR) is an emerging technology that, when done right, can oer the users a rich experience. However, as with most emerging technologies, it is primarily technology-driven, oen leaving the user needs aside. In this study a sensor-based MAR prototype was developed and evaluated, following a UserCentered Design process. e prototype visualized a future building in the ci...
متن کاملMoufang Buildings and Twin Buildings
The “Moufang Condition” for spherical buildings was introduced by J. Tits in the appendix of [9], as a tool to give more structure to the classification of spherical buildings of rank at least three (which are automatically “Moufang”). More recently, also the spherical buildings of rank 2 satisfying the Moufang Condition are classified [13]. Hence one could say that, on the geometric level, sph...
متن کاملSystolizing Buildings
We introduce a construction turning some Coxeter and Davis realizations of buildings into systolic complexes. Consequently groups acting geometrically on buildings of triangle types distinct from (2, 4, 4), (2, 4, 5), (2, 5, 5), and various rank 4 types are systolic.
متن کاملIntelligent Buildings
The emergence of intelligent buildings is founded on the rapid development of microcomputer and internet technology as well as the advance of information and communication technology. With the help of these technologies, office affairs have shifted from the traditional pattern of labor intense and large volume to the flexible, diverse, efficient, user-friendly, and highly reliable operations. M...
متن کاملBiomimetic buildings.
The more technology advances, the more there seems to be a basic human yearning to return to nature. This is reflected in a growing number of designers, architects, and artists who are turning to nature’s example to model uses of new technology. San Francisco architect Charles Lee does just that. Lee is a designer, artist, and researcher with the group Bios Design Collective, a group that works...
